It was a St. Petersburg (FL) kind of weekend…

The Don Cesar

The Don… the place where Husband decided to put a ring on it.

..:: you can read the story here::..

Supposedly this hotel is haunted, but that doesn’t seem to discourage anyone.  From the moment you pull up to this magnificent pink palace (which is strategically placed on the beach) you are struck with awe.  Every single detail has been tastefully thought out, the service is impeccable, you seriously feel like royalty just walking in here.

The lobby.

Husband enjoying his 12 year aged Macallan Scotch which he got on the house because our room was not ready at check in.  I think he was in full Don Draper mode by this point as we had been sunbathing & enjoying cocktails by the pool for hours before this mighty drink got put in his hands…

Room with a view. St. Petersburg Beach, FL.

Our room was stunning!  I love the beachy decor and the sky blue ceilings!  I told husband I plan on stealing this idea for our bedroom… he seamed ok with that.

Sea Critters Cafe

Before we checked in at The Don, we looked up some food establishments on Yelp and came across this highly rated seafood restaurant called Sea Critters Cafe.

The restaurant is (literally) right on the water where locals can pull up their boats right to the dock.  So fun!  The food was great too!  Husband had the fresh catch ruben sandwich which was divine, and I went with the healthier choice, a house salad with the catch of the day (blackened) and their homemade sun dried tomato vinaigrette dressing.

Yummay!

Derby Lane

Greyhound racing is one of my dad’s absolute favorite things to do, so what better way to celebrate his 56th birthday than at Derby Lane!  Buffet starts at 7 PM, racing starts at 7:30, and $2 bets will keep you entertained all night without breaking the bank.

;)

The buffet was PACKED!  Seafood night is obviously a very popular choice for the locals… all you can eat crab legs and oysters fresh out of the gulf???  How can you go wrong?!?

My brother in law, Jason, graced us with his presence & of course my mom (aka Inappropriate Kim) was at her finest…

Tropicana Field

Saturday night consisted of chicken tenders & beer at the baseball field where the Tampa Bay Rays beat up on the Boston Red Sox all night…

Ortiz about to strike out at bat… ha ha ha!

The Rays ended up winning by 2 runs. Woop Woop!

Beverly's La Croisette

Sunday Brunch with my love @ Beverly’s :)

Pancakes bigger than my plate & “world famous” home fries.  As for Husband, if there’s an egg sandwich on the menu, he’s probably going to order it.  Love him!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
