Bennett’s First Christmas

IMG_1955

I have to be honest, I was slightly dreading Christmas.  I knew it was never going to be the same without my dad.  In the past, even if he was working or with my grandma in Houston, I always knew that he would be here before or after to celebrate… but with the loss of one of my favorite people in the world, came the happiness and joy on the face of my precious little baby.  I had to remind myself that this was Bennett’s first Christmas and it needed to be special.

We had a wonderful time with family in Florida.  I hosted Christmas Eve which is starting to become a tradition.  We play White Elephant and Aunt Louise played Christmas carols on the piano as we all sing along.  Christmas morning Husband & I enjoyed opening presents with Bennett even thought he was not sure what was going on ha ha ha… Then we headed over to my mother in laws house where she had her wonderful breakfast ready.  I seriously look forward to that bacon all year long.  I will be craving it for the next 362 days…

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones!

  1. […] It’s crazy how a year can be the best and worst of your life.  Overall, it was the best… There were baby showers,  Husband & I celebrated our Babymoon in the Cayman Islands where I experienced {for the first and last time} Stingray City.  Some of my favorite moments were our maternity photos and decorating Baby D’s nursery.  In May, my little man was born, which has been the most rewarding experience of my life.  There is absolutely nothing like being a mommy to a precious little human that you made!  Nothing.  Husband & I celebrated our first Mother’s and Father’s Day.  Bennett had his first photoshoot :).  We traveled a little with a baby {oh my!!} Houston, Cincinnati, Denver, lots of beach trips…  I mean, my baby is 8 months old and has been on something like 10 airplanes already…Bennett started crawling at 5 months, had his 6 month photo shoot, and celebrated his first Christmas.
