Nope.  This is not an April Fools joke.  Although, I wish it was… Y’all, in one month, my baby will be turning one year old.  How?  Why?  Stop it.

This little man has taken his first unassisted steps (up to 7 at a time, if I’m keeping up with details), he cuddles his stuffed animals (never really loved them before), his favorite food right now is oranges, wearing 18 month old clothing for the length (tall boy!), he has mastered throwing lots of balls out of his ball pit, enjoys drinking from a straw, and loves being called a “big boy”.

The only show he will watch is Sesame Street, of which he only really enjoys one episode titled “The Wedding Planner” and, really, he only likes it for the “Two Little Rocks” song… if you are familiar with this episode you will know exactly what I’m talking about.  So we have it DVR’d for those moments of melt down ;) ha ha ha!

His hair is getting so long!  And has a little bit of a curl to it in the back, which I find super cute!  No, I’m not going to cut it any time soon…

Next time we have our monthly baby photo shoot it will be for the BIG day!  Happy 11th month my little man!

My baby’s getting big, y’all.  And he’s becoming less needy.  That little baby phase is long gone… sad.

He’s pulling himself up with ease onto anything and everything he can.  He crawls faster than I speed walk.  He’s always chatting with anyone who will listen (including the dogs and toys).  This boy can eat!  He is excited to try it all!  Poor thing still only has his two lower front teeth so he still can’t eat much, but anything soft and can be broken up into little pieces or fed with a spoon he is eager to get in his mouth.

His favorite activity these days would be bath time.  He has not had to use the baby holder thingy in the tub in a while so he is free to roam around, put his hands under the faucet as it fills the tub with water, play with all his water toys and books, and get bubble mohawks and beards from daddy.  He always has a big smile on his face when he’s in the tub.

My boy loves to be tossed into a big pile of pillows and blankets where he then pounces and laughs real loud.  It’s the cutest thing ever.  He is starting to tolerate being in the car a little bit better.  For a while this was a big challenge for Husband & I.  Neither one of us wanted to drive with him in the car!  Ha ha ha… He would get so upset!  Thank God that phase is over.

This boy is loooooong.  He is wearing 12 month clothes and I don’t mean the 9-12 month size… I mean the 12-18 month size.  Not that they fit in the waist, but for length, it’s the only size that works.  I’m predicting he’s going to be tall and skinny just like Husband & I were as kids… But please look at that pot belly in the pictures toward the top- I live for that belly!!

Every single day is a new adventure with Bennett.  He is just absorbing so much and developing skills so fast, I’m so proud of my little man!

Bennett, Mommy loves you so, so much!!  And Daddy loves you so much too!
