Costa Rica, Guanacaste : Part 3

Husband is part of a secret society. Seriously…

Ok, maybe it’s not a “secret” society but it’s definitely a club where a select group of people in the same specialty as him gather in exotic locations and bounce ideas off each other, talk about best practices & statistics & what-not…  It was our first national meeting as members and it was so cool!  We met some awesome people that we related really well with, who were going through similar situations as we are, and got a ton of good advice for our business!

For the farewell dinner, the group threw a huge party right on the beach with string lights, a live band, and fireworks.  It was a really great time!  Can’t wait for next years meeting!

There was a pretty gorgeous sunset that evening…

Tamarindo, Costa Rica

DSCN1810

Tamarindo is definitely the “happening” town closest to the resort.  It’s very tourist driven but still has the small beach town vibe.  Tons of surfers and itty bitty bikini clad girls!

Husband & I took a van into town one of the days we were there and enjoyed a nice lunch right on the sand and looked in all the little shops full of nicknacks of local art and Pura Vida t-shirts.  It was a cool little spot just a little warm if you weren’t right on the water…

Costa Rica, Guanacaste :: Part 2

Zip Lining!

DSCN1832Now… the people who truly know me, know that I’m not very adventurous.  I pretty much stay away from anything dangerous or life threatening at all costs.  Zip lining for me is right up there with other idiotic acts such as bungee jumping & sky diving.  I mean… I’m seriously going to put all of my trust in a wire, holster, and some sort of wheeling contraption that barely attached to the mentioned wire that connected from one tree to another?!?  But I was determined to not be the sissy in the group.  I mean, I can’t be shown up by an 8 year old!

So they herded us up like cattle in the back of a truck bed and we started the trek up the mountains…DSCN1836

Then we did it. There were 11 zip-lines to ride down and absorb all of the surroundings of Costa Rican landscaping.  I have a video of husband & I going down most of the lines so if anyone wants to see it, you are going to have to come hang out.  Not going to post on the blog, sorry.

You know… I’m so glad I grew the man parts to do this.  And I am pretty sure I will do it again if presented the opportunity!

Costa Rica, Guanacaste :: Part 1

JW Marriott Resort

This resort was seriously awesome!  The grounds were really well maintained, there were hammocks at every turn for your lounging pleasure, & I believe every single room at the resort had some sort of incredible view.  Not only did the JW Marriott have three restaurants on the property including a very nice steakhouse, there was also a fantastic spa where Husband & I indulged in a very relaxing couples massage.  Is anyone familiar with the hot stone massage?  I had my first one at the resort & I’m officially addicted.

^^ Suite 233 is the place to be! ^^

Our room had an unobstructed view of the ocean which I was quite fond of.  I would go out on the balcony pretty much every morning/sunset and just watch the waves roll in while the sky changed a million different colors.  If anyone has the pleasure of staying at this resort- make sure to stay in room 233.  Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Oh!! And they have a local photographer who has artwork displayed all over the resort and this was my favorite portrait::DSCN1808

...and we did a lot of this : hangin' poolside with cocktails.

Pura Vida!

DSCN1896 - Version 2

Seriously… Costa Rica was amazing.

I’m looking though all of my pics from the trip & thinking it’s time to plan a trip back!  We had so much fun meeting locals, enjoying the ocean & drinking cocktails out of coconuts, it made it almost impossible to leave!

So be patient with me as I get organized… I will have full vacation details soon!

xoxo

See ya soon, Costa Rica!

Husband & I are about to board our flight from Miami to Liberia, Costa Rica… The google weather man says its going to be a hot 90 degrees and sunny the whole time we are there, so I plan on returning fully bronzed. Of course I self tanned for the last 3 days so I have some nice tan lines already that are very obvious around my wrist… My hands are so white compared to the rest of my body! Ha ha ha! When will they invent a self tanner that doesn’t stain the hands?

Anyway… Hope everyone has a great weekend!
