Today marks our six year wedding anniversary, and so far it has been the most glamorous morning! Woke up to a congested infant at 3 a.m. who was desperately hungry like he hadn’t eaten in weeks, then fell back asleep (thank you Jesus!!) for what seemed like 10 minutes but was actually 3 hours. We have changed 3 poopy diapers, cut up a banana to go uneaten by our toddler, made toasted bread with butter to be tossed aside by the same previously mentioned toddler, just to play with the same “chunky size” puzzle of construction trucks that has been put together at least 22 times this morning. We have built 3 towers of mega blocks to be pummeled, we have filled and refilled multiple bottles of milk, wiped snotty noses, given medicine through syringes, watched an episode of Sesame Street, read Little Blue Truck, have given lots of kisses to tiny foreheads, and had our necks hugged so tight…

I know to some this does not describe the morning of their dreams, but being six years deep in this thing called marriage, this is the only way I would want it to be!  It’s everything I ever wanted!  Waking up next to you, Husband, is all I can ask for in this crazy life we are living and I’m still so grateful to call you mine.

I love you!  Cheers to six years!  And cheers to many, many more!

More Canada Photos… Long overdue…

One of the “must-do’s” on my list for Canada was take a helicopter tour of the Rockies, and it did not disappoint.  We got to see an up close and personal view of the Three Sisters, we landed in a valley with spectacular views of the surrounding Banff National Park, and we got to see a birds eye view of a huge glacier! This experience was amazing.  Just, amazing.

As we were driving through the Bow Valley Parkway there were lots of fun places to stop and sightsee and take some selfies.  Who am I kidding, the whole trip was so picturesque, I took way more pictures than I could ever put on this blog…

Another awesome thing we did was hike up to the lookout on Castle Mountain.  This was probably one of the scariest days of my life as after 3 hours of hiking, we were finally making it to the clearing at the top for the incredible view, when we hear the deepest, throatiest (if that’s a word), most “don’t mess with me, I will eat you!!” growl ever!!!  And…. we didn’t take bear spray like the gentleman at the hotel told us to… yes, we FaceTimed our families at the top of that mountain because we thought it was our last moments on earth.  Seriously…

On a less scary note, this moment, on top of this mountain will always be one of the most memorable.  It was stunningly beautiful.  If you are in the Banff area, check this out, you won’t regret it.

Here’s a video of a stream of melting snow we had to cross to continue up the mountain.  It was by far the toughest hike I have ever done.

Thank you, Canada, for a wonderful anniversary trip!  We cannot wait to visit again soon!

Dear Husband,

Today marks our five year wedding anniversary, and these last five years have been absolutely amazing because they have been spent with you.

The saying “I’m not spoiled, just well taken care of” perfectly depicts my life with you.  Since the day we met, you have taken pristine care of me…  you provide above and beyond what is expected of a husband, and I don’t take this life you give me for granted, not one single second of it.

You are the best partner to have in life.  Smart, trustworthy, level headed, loyal… that’s you, my husband!  Not to mention very handsome :)  Five years and a (very cute) baby later, you are the same person I fell in love with.

Bottom line is, thank God I hooked you in that gross Houston bar back in 2008 (insert winking emoji here).  Sure, I know I bring a lot to the table as well, but you are so wonderful and every now and then you deserve to hear how much of a blessing you are to my life.

I love you, sweetheart.  Happy anniversary!

Love, Wifey
