I am so thankful that this little cutie was born thirty four years ago today. I love him with all my heart.
Happy Birthday, Husband!
Today is Friday, February 14th, 2014 and I love you more today than I did yesterday. Yesterday, I loved you more than I did the day before, and I’m pretty sure tomorrow I will love you more than I do today. I know that is not an original saying, but it’s the perfect thing to write to you because it’s true. Since we’ve met, I don’t think there has been a day that has passed where I didn’t find a new reason to love you more. You have so many wonderful qualities about you, I really don’t even know where to start, but if I had to describe your character in three words they would be thoughtful, dedicated, and genuine.
Let’s start with thoughtful… Your consideration for the needs of others is commendable. I love that you are generous when it’s important yet practical in purchases for yourself. I love that you always make me walk on the inside of you when we are on a busy street because you think drivers are crazy and you don’t want me to be hit. That’s so thoughtful! The way you take care of me… there are some things that you do that go unnoticed, and you never bring them up, but then I find out that you did them… for me… for my happiness… that is just the most wonderful feeling for a woman. I don’t give you enough credit for all the amazingly thoughtful things you do for me on a daily basis. You are truly a dream, Husband. I love that about you.
Moving on to dedicated… You are by far the hardest worker I know. Not in the sense that you can’t ever unplug, but in the sense of always striving to be the best you can be at anything & everything you put your mind to. Whether it’s to be a better boss, a better husband, a better friend, a better son… a better anything! You are dedicated to putting your all into it. You are really figuring out the work/life balance so beautifully and I admire you for your commitment to my happiness. I love that about you.
And finally, genuine… When I say that you are genuine, I mean that you are humble when most would be arrogant; you put anyone and everyone at ease with your modesty. There are times when you get bashful when people talk about your accomplishments (there are so many to be proud of!!) and I absolutely adore that about you. You are authentic, sincere, and most of all honest. You never make people feel inferior to you, even though we all know you are the smartest guy in the room, and I love that you always, always, always consider me your equal. You make me feel like what I’m doing in our lives is just as important as what you are doing (even though it’s clearly not). I love that about you.
I have said it before, but I will say it again… you are one of a kind, Husband. Truly, a rare breed of man. And I thank God every day for you.
I love you,
WARNING: the following post is going to be super cheesy.
If you tend to want to gag yourself while reading professions of love from one human being to another, please do not proceed to read this blog until after Friday. This is MY blog, and if I can’t proclaim my love for my Husband in a mushy fashion on here… then where can I?!? I guess in a private convo or in a Hallmark card… but then that wouldn’t be a proclamation to the entire internet world!! And where’s the fun in that?!? You’re lucky I have enough respect for my fellow human beings to not only put up a warning label, but I’m saving you the super lame status update on Facebook. You’re welcome.

More commonly known as: Valentine’s Day
Soooo to celebrate my turning the big 3-0 Husband & I left the country and went somewhere I had been dying to visit- Turks & Caicos!! We stayed at The West Bay Club and the picture above was the incredible view from the room! Wowza!
The first full day we were in Turks & Caicos Husband & I were invited on a 4 hour excursion around the island to do some snorkeling and see some sights. It was amazing!
Husband got 2 conchs while he was snorkeling! The only guy to get any (besides the tour guide), proud wifey moment.
The boat captain cracked open the shell and pulled the conch out, cleaned it up and prepared fresh conch salad for everyone!
About a half a second after placing the conch in my hand I made him take it back. GROSS!
Toward the end of our excursion, we stopped at Iguana Island where the boat captains let us do some exploring on our own. There was a super shallow body of water that you could walk across which called for a mini photo shoot:
and then we saw this guy…
After Iguana Island, we all got back on the boat where we then went to an area where the water was super deep where we could jump off the roof of the boat! There was a nice lady on the boat who captured this moment and sent it to me. I was so scared with my fear of heights and all… but I loved every moment!
On the way back to the resort this was the view from the back of the boat… pretty incredible!
The thirtieth birthday vacation was off to a great start!
5 years ago today, the stars aligned, and the paths of Husband & I crossed! Holy cow! 5 years…
