Hometown Love!

My weekend in Houston flew by WAY too fast.  Not sure if I even mentioned on here that I was going to Texas…but anyway….  I cannot believe how much I did and how many people I got to see in three days!  I saw my grandparents, four of my bridesmaids, my flower girl, and of course my parents.  And not just that! I got to eat at three of my top five favorite restaurants!  I’d say the weekend was a huge success.

Friday night was spent having a fabulous thai dinner at Kanomwan with my parents & grandparents.  It had been a while since I saw my grandparents on my dad’s side…. come to think of it, it was almost a year ago at my cousin’s wedding in San Diego.  You can see more about that trip here.  It was so good to catch up on all the Olson gossip… the best moment of the night was when my Grandpa leaned over to my mom and asked, “Did Bobbie just get engaged??”  He’s a bit forgetful these days… ;)DSCN1729

After dinner I got to meet up with my beautiful cousin’s Jennifer (left) and Kimberly (middle) for drinks and discussions about life and answers to questions like, “When did we get old?”.  I like conversations like this especially with my cousins because they will follow it up with something totally hilarious where all seriousness is thrown aside.  Love them!DSCN1733

Saturday was dedicated to sleeping, shopping, and my good friend, Heather’s, birthday.  We had dinner at a fabulous wine bar called Brix, where we all shared a huge basket of truffle parmesan fries.  And of course I got the grilled cheese sandwich which was served with NO CRUST! Duh, I love this place!

Then we moved to the spot next door (1252) which had signature martinis like sour patch adult &  tres leches. D-lish!

And of course I couldn’t visit Houston and not see my sweet Molly Madison!  She tried on my sunnies, I told her to strike a pose, and this was the result. Can she get any cuter?!?

I love my life! And it’s entirely because of the people in it!

Ha ha ha, ok, maybe I don’t remember the exact time that our eyes met from across the room, but you have the general idea. Husband & I met many moons ago while he was finishing residency in Houston (where I’m from- what’s up H-town!). It was probably the sketchiest bar in Houston (at the moment) where everyone went to mix, mingle, drink, grind, do drugs (not us- other people), etc… just to give you a mental photo of how classy this place was.

Husband decided to take a night off from his extensive studying to unwind for his ::Birthday Weekend:: and thank goodness he did!  Or else he would have never had the pleasure of meeting me! Whew, close call. Anyway, I documented the first meeting only because it was love at first sight and Husband is a rare breed in Houston.  He is actually a rare breed anywhere, but especially at this sketchy bar in Houston.  Here’s the proof we were crazy about each other even on the first night we met:

Love him.

So here’s my number, so call me maybe.
