Boat Cruisin’ in Phuket

Soooo… when booking our trip to Thailand, one (if not the most) important attraction I was dying to see were the islands of Phang Nga Bay.  We chartered a boat in advance for one of the days we were going to be in Phuket.  Well, sure enough, the day we were to go out on the boat, there was a torrential down pour and our excursion got cancelled.  I was absolutely devastated.  Sat around moping like a little brat in our fabulous villa overlooking the ocean… I seriously thought my life was over. WOE IS ME!!!

Then, after hours of praying, the next morning I woke up and the skies were clear and the sun was out!  I immediately called the boat company and it was a GO!  Oh boy, did my bi-polar attitude take a toll on Husband… ha ha ha!  All was good in the world!  I was the happiest girl on the planet!  It was everything I expected and more. Hope y’all enjoy the pics :)

As this is my final post about Thailand, I wanted to post some pics of the resort in Phuket.  Trisara was pure luxury.  Everything about it deserved the five stars it was rated.  Each secluded villa had it’s own personal infinity pool overlooking the ocean, no detail was ever overlooked, and the service was impeccable.  I will be back. For sure. ;)

I might post some outtakes from the trip at another time, but for now, thank you Thailand for being the absolute best place Husband & I have travelled to thus far (and we have been A LOT of places i.e. Greece, Spain, France, Netherlands, Canada, Hungary, Mexico, British West Indies aka Turks & Caicos, Turkey, Italy, etc…).  We cannot wait to visit again in the future!

Turks & Caicos :: Part 2

For Christmas I got Husband a Go Pro Hero 3+ Camera and here are some of the AWESOME captures:

One of the days we were in T & C was spent sailing around the islands drinking rum punch and doing some more snorkeling around the reef which is supposedly the 2nd largest reef in the world (according to the captain of the boat).  Husband obviously enjoyed taking selfies ;) but we might need a little more practice taking underwater pictures of others… not too flattering ha ha ha!!  Toward the end of the sail we set up a little picnic and got some pretty fantastic sunset shots!

What an amazing trip, having our friends and family there was just icing on the thirtieth birthday cake!

**If you are planning a trip to Turks & Caicos anytime soon, I highly recommend having dinner at Coco Bistro!  My big birthday dinner was spent there and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the food and drinks!  And the service was superb!**

Soooo to celebrate my turning the big 3-0 Husband & I left the country and went somewhere I had been dying to visit- Turks & Caicos!!  We stayed at The West Bay Club and the picture above was the incredible view from the room! Wowza!

The first full day we were in Turks & Caicos Husband & I were invited on a 4 hour excursion around the island to do some snorkeling and see some sights.  It was amazing!

Conch Hunting

Husband got 2 conchs while he was snorkeling!  The only guy to get any (besides the tour guide), proud wifey moment.

The boat captain cracked open the shell and pulled the conch out, cleaned it up and prepared fresh conch salad for everyone!

About a half a second after placing the conch in my hand I made him take it back.  GROSS!

Iguana Island

Toward the end of our excursion, we stopped at Iguana Island where the boat captains let us do some exploring on our own.  There was a super shallow body of water that you could walk across which called for a mini photo shoot:

and then we saw this guy…

After Iguana Island, we all got back on the boat where we then went to an area where the water was super deep where we could jump off the roof of the boat!  There was a nice lady on the boat who captured this moment and sent it to me.  I was so scared with my fear of heights and all… but I loved every moment!

On the way back to the resort this was the view from the back of the boat… pretty incredible!

The thirtieth birthday vacation was off to a great start!
