Sayonara 2015

It’s crazy how a year can be the best and worst of your life.  Overall, it was the best… There were baby showers,  Husband & I celebrated our Babymoon in the Cayman Islands where I experienced {for the first and last time} Stingray City.  Some of my favorite moments were our maternity photos and decorating Baby D’s nursery.  In May, my little man was born, which has been the most rewarding experience of my life.  There is absolutely nothing like being a mommy to a precious little human that you made!  Nothing.  Husband & I celebrated our first Mother’s and Father’s Day.  Bennett had his first photoshoot :).  We traveled a little with a baby {oh my!!} Houston, Cincinnati, Denver, lots of beach trips…  I mean, my baby is 8 months old and has been on something like 10 airplanes already…Bennett started crawling at 5 months, had his 6 month photo shoot, and celebrated his first Christmas.

It was an amazing year.  Next year will not be the same without my dad, life will never be the same without him, but Bennett arrived in 2015 for a reason.  He brings so much love and light to our lives!

Happy New Year!

It’s a New Year!

I know, I know… it’s already the middle of January and New Years has come and gone… but for some reason, I feel like I need to reflect back on 2013 and give some major props to some pretty awesome moments!  First, our trip to Costa Rica- you can check it out herehere, and here. Then, our two year wedding anniversary where Husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Naples.  During the summer, we had both bathrooms renovated- see them here and here. Can’t forget our trip to Nor Cal, which you can check out hereherehere, and here.  My best friend got married!!  (Still waiting on wedding pictures, Victoria!!)  And of course I recently turned the big 3-0  which we spent in Turks & Caicos!!  What a fantastic year!

2013, you were real good to us!  It’s hard to say farewell, but I’m excited for what 2014 has in store for us!

Happy New Year, Y’all!

Do you guys know the lyrics to this infamous New Years Eve song?  Google them…  not really sure why this song is the “New Years Eve song”… it’s kind of depressing.  It always reminds me of that final scene in When Harry Met Sally, y’all know the part… not that Harry Met Sally is a depressing movie at all… I actually love that movie!  But they talk about the song in that last scene and the irony of the lyrics.

This year Husband & I rang in the New Year with family and friends and I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any other way.  We had a fantastic steak dinner (yum!), then made it home just in time to pop a bottle of champagne & watch the ball drop in Times Square.  I don’t know how those people stand there all day long… I heard that they are not allowed to drink anything or go to the bathroom unless they plan to lose their spot in the crowd.  Insanity!  It is on my bucket list though… to be in Times Square for New Years Eve… but I think I will take the option of watching from a balcony in a hotel room.  Am I a diva or what? ;)

See ya later 2012!  It’s been real… welcome 2013!!!
