Just wanted to share a few pictures (sorry they aren’t very clear since they are from my phone) of the nursery before Baby Dietrich gets here.  I call my theme “Bohemian Safari Chic” because I wanted something gender neutral (obviously), but still my style.  Husband did all of the hanging of art & curtains on the windows.  He is just so good at that! ;)  The only thing I do not have at this time is my wall mounted book shelf that was supposed to be here last week, but I have just been informed it will not be here until mid-May.  Booooooo!!!  I also do not have very many baby clothes yet… I figured I have a whole lifetime to buy lots of adorable outfits.  I imagine it will be like: one cute outfit for baby, one cute outfit for mommy ;).  Anyway, this is now my favorite room in the house.  I go in there all the time just to sit in the rocking chair and stare at all the things Baby D will soon be using on a regular basis.  It’s just the sweetest little room… now all we need is a Baby!  Hurry up little one, we are all waiting!

These are a few of my {current} favorite things… All Baby!

Matt & Nat “Raylan” Vegan Leather Diaper Bag

_10299731

I’m obsessed with my baby/ diaper bag by Matt & Nat.  A friend of mine from college, Molly, over at Fashion Veggie introduced me to this bag on her blog a few months ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase.  There are so many compartments in this bag for any & everything your baby could possibly need, comes in six fabulous colors, and it’s made of really good quality vegan leather!  So, no animals were harmed in the making of this bag!  Check out Molly’s blog (highlighted above) for all sorts of vegan fashion!

Budu Baby Satchel

Here’s a product I cannot wait to use!  This Budu baby carrier is so chic (seriously the best looking carrier in my opion).  I’ve tried it on & so far it seems to be very easy to adjust and fit to whomever wants to carry Baby D in it.  Made from natural bamboo fabric, this carrier is so soft and the bamboo liner easily removes to be cleaned.  This Australian company is owned and operated by a  fellow mommy, and the quality of the product is well worth the investment.

Chenille Burp Cloths

When I started packing my hospital bags today, I realized I only had one burp cloth. ONE burp cloth!  So of course, I hop on etsy and find an endless list of the cutest burp cloths.  The ones pictured above are the ones I went with… I may or may not have got some Florida Gator ones for Husband as well ;)

Thirty-Six Week Bumpdate

IMG_1008

Well, y’all, we are in the home stretch… the final four… weeks that is ;)

Went out to dinner with Husband last night at one of our favorite restaurants, Restaurant BT, and talked about how much life is going to change once Baby D is here.  It is such a weird concept to think that we are officially on “baby time” now, it’s just a waiting game now to see if he or she will be on time, early, or late (I sure hope not!!).  I was also thinking, over the next few weeks I will constantly be thinking, is this our last meal just the two of us?  Is this our last night just the two of us?  Our last weekend?  What kind of parents are we going to be?  How will we survive those first few nights alone with Baby??  Such a scary thing to think about… but also exciting!!

We met our pediatrician (group practice- but only met with one) on Friday, and she was wonderful!  She really put my mind at ease when answering all of my obnoxious first-time-mom questions.   We also finished up all of our “Preparation for Baby” classes (i.e. Prepared Childbirth, Breastfeeding, Safe Baby which included CPR training and proper installation of the car seat) which actually probably scared me more than anything else has during pregnancy.  They show videos of all these brave women having natural births and cesarean section surgeries (eeeeeek!!).  They dabble in epidurals and birthing positions and breathing techniques.  It was all a bit overwhelming, but very informative and I’m glad Husband & I did them together :)

Ok, let’s address the elephant in the room… ME!  I’m enormous!  How much bigger can my belly get before Baby decides to come out?!?  Acid reflux and heartburn are absolute torture and bye bye cute shoes… for now.  My energy levels are starting to tank again.  One minute I will have this burst of energy and the next I’m out cold on the couch or in bed.  Husband had to leave the room the other night because my snoring has gotten so bad :(  I have never snored before… unless I was extremely sick… Baby’s legs & feet are all up in my rib cage, I am making a prediction that he or she is going to have the longest body ever.  Although, that is probably the easiest prediction to make because Husband & I are both pretty tall individuals.

Anyway, no more negativity about the pregnancy because in all honesty, I LOVE this baby inside my belly.  I love all the movements, kicks to the ribs, hiccups, and heartbeats.  I am going to miss this so much once he or she is out, even if the last few weeks are hard.  And to be even more honest… I can’t wait to do it again!  (Husband don’t have a heart attack)  I haven’t gone through labor yet, so my thoughts on pregnancy can change for a while after Baby is born, but as of this moment in time, I cannot wait to watch our little family grow.  I do not want to take any part of pregnancy for granted, as I know some women who would love to have a baby and can’t. I know of women who go through tons of treatments to try to get pregnant and don’t.  I feel so lucky to be here in this moment with my baby in my belly, and I will cherish these last few days of us being one.

We love you Baby Dietrich and cannot wait to share this beautiful world with you!  Please don’t give Mommy too hard of a time as you make your entrance ;)  xoxo

Dietrich Babymoon- Grand Cayman Islands

It’s about 5AM and of course I cannot sleep, so what better time to blog?!? Ha ha ha!  I know it has been about a month since we went on vacation to Cayman Island…  I just feel like time is slipping away from me, and there’s still so much to do before Baby D makes their appearance into the world.  Anyway, here are some of the photos from our beautiful trip :)

Husband & I were primarily on this trip for a business meeting, so we didn’t get to do a whole lot on our own… most of the time we were with people from the group, which was actually super fun!  We have made some really good friends in the group and it’s nice to know that we are able to see them twice a year at these meetings even though we all live in different parts of the country.  One of my really good friends is a wife of another Dr. in the group, and she is also pregnant!  So it was great having someone to relate with and get advice from {this will be her second baby}.

One of our nights was spent on a catamaran watching the beautiful sunset.  Husband sipped on the local brew and I had the virgin Cayman Lemonade ;).  Everyone had a great time!  I love sailing… maybe Baby D will take up sailing as an extra curricular activity and take his or her momma out every now and then :).
