Nope.  This is not an April Fools joke.  Although, I wish it was… Y’all, in one month, my baby will be turning one year old.  How?  Why?  Stop it.

This little man has taken his first unassisted steps (up to 7 at a time, if I’m keeping up with details), he cuddles his stuffed animals (never really loved them before), his favorite food right now is oranges, wearing 18 month old clothing for the length (tall boy!), he has mastered throwing lots of balls out of his ball pit, enjoys drinking from a straw, and loves being called a “big boy”.

The only show he will watch is Sesame Street, of which he only really enjoys one episode titled “The Wedding Planner” and, really, he only likes it for the “Two Little Rocks” song… if you are familiar with this episode you will know exactly what I’m talking about.  So we have it DVR’d for those moments of melt down ;) ha ha ha!

His hair is getting so long!  And has a little bit of a curl to it in the back, which I find super cute!  No, I’m not going to cut it any time soon…

Next time we have our monthly baby photo shoot it will be for the BIG day!  Happy 11th month my little man!

Malibu, CA :: March 2016

This little family of mine!  We had so much fun being tourists in my old stomping grounds!  We seriously did a little bit of everything that Malibu has to offer… except surf… I’ve never been a big fan of the cold Pacific water.  We did go to Pepperdine, ate at all my favorite spots, went hiking, saw some of my greatest friends, and of course did some shopping ;).  It was a blast!

There are days when I reminisce about my time in Malibu.  It was such a special time in my life.  I was finally feeling what freedom was for the first time (my parents were 2000+ miles away!!).  I was meeting people who were totally different from me and grew up in a different world than me.  It was truly one of the best experiences, and I don’t think I would be who I am today if I hadn’t have been brave enough to leave the comfort of my home in Texas and go to college in California.  I never wanted to conform to the norm and get too comfortable knowing that my parents could just rescue me at the drop of a hat.

Someday, Bennett will be at the age where he is figuring out where he wants to go to college and as much as I selfishly will want him to be close to home, I hope that I am brave enough at that time to let him choose his own path and encourage him to fulfill his dreams.

Anyway, once again, Husband & I had a great time with our little buddy.  It’s crazy that his first college visit was to my school across the country when daddy’s school is only a 2 hour drive from our house in Florida :).

 I just know he is going to be a wave!!! ;) Enjoy the pics!

Twenty-Four Week Bumpdate

DSC03027

Another month down since my last bumpdate, and I really need time to slow down.  In 16 short weeks, I will {hopefully} be meeting my sweet little baby!! Can y’all believe that?!?  16 more weeks?!?  Yeeeeeee!! I’m so excited!  My cousin, Kelly, sent me the coolest gift a couple weeks ago called Bellybuds where we can attach the buds to my belly and share music & our voices with the baby, since he or she has been developing its hearing since around twenty weeks.  The other night Husband read “Green Eggs and Ham” to Baby {but it looked like he was just reading to my bump ha ha ha!} and it was just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.  Thanks again, Kelly, for those Bellybuds!

My latest food craving is anything with bacon and I’m drinking tons of milk.  The belly is getting bigger by the day {at least that’s how I feel} and I swear Baby D is having a dance party in there most nights because there’s a lot of movin’ and shakin’ going on.  According to my super scientific, and I’m sure 100% accurate, pregnancy app on my iPhone, Baby D is the size of an eggplant this week.  I really look forward to my weekly update of the size of Baby.  Last week it was the size of a “bunch of grapes”… Thanks preggo app… that makes the size crystal clear ;)

Overall I’m feeling great, really can’t complain about anything.  Hm… I take that back.  Gaining all this weight in such a small amount of time has not been cool… And swollen feet after a few hours of wearing heels doesn’t feel too awesome… but ultimately, I just feel so blessed.  I love this little human growing inside of me SO much, none of the symptoms of pregnancy are bothering me to the point of complaining. Not yet at least… we’ll see how I feel in another month or two.

Before I finish up this bumpdate, I have to share the best maternity leggings I have found so far because I literally wear them at least 3 times a week.  They are the Blanqi High Performance Leggings from Nordstrom.  I really need to invest in another pair before I wear these to death and get a hole in them.  I’m obsessed.

Y’all, 2015 is off to a great start!  I’m really looking forward to the rest of it! xoxo
