Dear Husband,

Today marks our five year wedding anniversary, and these last five years have been absolutely amazing because they have been spent with you.

The saying “I’m not spoiled, just well taken care of” perfectly depicts my life with you.  Since the day we met, you have taken pristine care of me…  you provide above and beyond what is expected of a husband, and I don’t take this life you give me for granted, not one single second of it.

You are the best partner to have in life.  Smart, trustworthy, level headed, loyal… that’s you, my husband!  Not to mention very handsome :)  Five years and a (very cute) baby later, you are the same person I fell in love with.

Bottom line is, thank God I hooked you in that gross Houston bar back in 2008 (insert winking emoji here).  Sure, I know I bring a lot to the table as well, but you are so wonderful and every now and then you deserve to hear how much of a blessing you are to my life.

I love you, sweetheart.  Happy anniversary!

Love, Wifey

^^ Man oh man, how I love this Man!  ^^

Today marks our four year wedding anniversary, so I thought I would share a few “cutting the cake” photos with my readers.  What a special, sweet day that was…

I look back on the last four years and think to myself, wow!  Look at all that we have accomplished, all the people we have met, all the friends that we have made, all the places we have traveled, all the memories we will keep forever…  and it’s only been four years of marriage!  Of course there are lows (I would never say life is perfect), but when reflecting on our short amount of time as a married couple, I would have to say that we overcome those rough obstacles with grace.  And now, we have a little baby who will be arriving at any moment!  Expanding our family is probably the most exciting experience we will ever have and I cannot wait for this new chapter of life to start!

Husband, you make me the happiest woman in the whole world.  You work so hard and do everything possible to enhance our life together… and I just want you to know, I appreciate you in every way.  I am so proud to be your wife, the mother of your child, and your partner in life.  You are so wonderful!

I love you.  Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart!

Thirty-One

I read a quote the other day, “As you grow up your priorities change. Nights out are swapped for nights in, your circle gets smaller and games, drama, and partying every weekend just aren’t entertaining anymore.  You get to a point when it’s quality, like your career, your relationships, your home, your family and YOU! You want quality now.  Something that’s yours, something real, something you can grow, something you’re proud of.  As you grow up you want a future, not just for now.  As you grow up things change, YOU change… and you start to like it that way.”

What a difference a year can make.  Happy to meet you thirty-one… you can stick around for a little bit.

We’re having a baby!

Baby D seems to be settling in for the long haul and has a super healthy heartbeat, so I figured it was the right time to go ahead and announce our exciting news to the internet world.  I’m officially 12 weeks and 4 days along so I won’t be able to hide this bump for very much longer :) This mommy-to-be has been nauseous for about 3 months straight which is slowly but surely subsiding as the weeks continue to pass, I constantly crave Cinnamon Toast Crunch… literally all day every day, I’m still exercising regularly even though my energy level has not been favorable…  But I feel great!  I could not be more excited about this little miracle growing inside of my belly and I just thank God for His wonderful blessing to our lives!

{Baby D should be making their appearance on or around May 2, 2015}

Grandma Came to Visit!

DSC00990

My Grandma Kellum, from Hamilton, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati), came all the way to Florida to see me.  I was so happy to get to spend almost a whole week with her.  She is 91 years old and feisty as ever but her memory is sharp as a tack!  Since her and my mom were in town at the same time, I figured we should have a belated Mother’s Day lunch which is where these top few pictures were taken.

On Wednesday night we took her to see the Cirque Du Soleil, Michael Jackson show which was a whole new experience for her.  With the crazy acrobatics, dancing, and singing it was out of this world awesome! She loved it!

Then toward the end of the week we took grandma to the beach for a couple of days and this is basically all she did the whole time:

^^The dog, in the picture above, is Scotty and that is Grandma’s pride and joy.  She sure does love that dog! ^^

I guess the love of dogs runs in the family ;).

On our final night together we got all fancy and went to a nice dinner at The Melody Inn.  Whenever we do anything a little more formal my Grandma always likes to say we were “real uptown”.  Which I’m taking to mean that we are classy broads, which I’ll admit  we were for the evening… we were SO uptown,  I even got Grandma to try escargot for the first time in her life!

^^ She wasn’t impressed… ha ha ha! ^^

Overall I would say it was a successful trip for Grandma.  She did get ill toward the end of the trip and was in the hospital (back in Ohio)  for the last week, but yesterday she got transferred to a rehab facility and is starting to feel a little better.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I love you Grandma!  Thanks for coming to visit me and I will see you again very soon!

Three blissful years.

I swear, it feels like only yesterday we were in the Briscoe Manor chapel with all of our closest family and friends taking our vows.  I love looking back on our amazing day and how much fun everyone had…  We are so, SO blessed in life and in love, and I couldn’t imagine walking this journey with anyone other than you, Husband.  You are the light of my life.  I love you.  Happy Anniversary!
