Good morning and Happy Easter to all of you!

Yesterday, I felt the urge to get dressed, put on makeup, fix my hair, clean the boys up, and go ahead and take our family Easter photo.  Normally, right now we would be dressed like the photo above and heading out the door (probably late as usual) to church.  Today we are watching our church live stream on the internet :(… in our jammies… Such a weird time in the world.

We feel blessed though!  Woke up in a safe home, with clothes on our backs, the Easter Bunny made a visit last night, my kids are happy and healthy… life is precious and so, so good!  And thank you Jesus for giving your life for us!  That’s the biggest blessing of all!

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives, and believes in me, shall never die.”

John 11:25-26

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter full of love and health!  Here are some fun pictures from the magic in our house this morning :)

Cookie Decorating!

Today we picked up an Easter themed cookie decorating kit from our local cake maker, Elises Pieces, and the boys could not wait 2 minutes before opening everything up and getting to work (and sneaking a taste)!  It’s unknown if we will be seeing the Easter Bunny at all this year, so I went ahead and decorated the entire house with all of my Easter decor to make it feel more festive around here.  The boys have been hiding empty eggs and finding them, which has been entertaining.  Poor Bennett went to hide some eggs and proceeded to tell me to go invite all his friends over to find them.  I wish buddy! But this was a fun activity & yummy treat for us!  Kept our minds off being on house arrest for about an hour :)

Easter Sunday, Dallas, & San Diego

This little family of mine is FINALLY getting over a horrible cold that has been plaguing our household for two weeks now.  Three out of four of us have been on antibiotics, one had an ear & eye infection, the other just had fluid behind the ears that had the potential of becoming infected, this mama is tired.  It is sheer exhaustion over here.  We have also taken two trips this month, one to Dallas (Remy’s first flight), and the other to San Diego.

Easter Sunday came and went.  Bennett participated in two egg hunts, both boys met the Easter Bunny twice (once at the mall, the other at the country club), we didn’t make it to church on Easter due to our snotty noses and deep congested coughs, but we made the best of it!

Dallas was so much fun!  Husband was in meetings majority of the time, so it was just me and my boys being tourists.  We went to the Dallas World Aquarium which was awesome!  Bennett loved the sea otters the most!  It’s a beautifully done aquarium, they have a little bit of everything in there, but I would recommend (if you ever go) to not go at peak field trip hours because it was packed at 10:30 AM on a Thursday with tons of kiddos.  We also saw the Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive, seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Does anyone else have a child that points as much as mine?

Ha ha ha!

And most recently, our trip to San Diego… We of course went to the zoo, checked out Old Town San Diego, ate at Coyote Cafe where we ate some of the most wonderful homemade tortillas of our lives, and Mission Bay for my little man to play at some parks.

We have had a very busy April and it’s not even over yet.  Bennett’s 2nd birthday party is on Saturday, then we have Berns Wine Fest on Sunday that sold out in like 2.5 seconds, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend of fun!  I know this wasn’t the most detailed blog post, but sometimes just throwing the pictures up here tells the story in themselves. Uploading the pictures to this blog also keeps this mama sane while trying my best to document my babies lives and milestones.  Some day in the distant future, I will have time to blog like I used to, but for now photographs of a moment in time will have to do.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Easter Weekend

Hope everyone reading had a wonderful Easter weekend!  Easter always falls around the same time as our wedding anniversary so it’s nice that we are usually with family or on some sort of weekend getaway trying to celebrate one of the two occasions.  This year is our THREE year anniversary, which technically isn’t until tomorrow, but we decided to head to the beach with the mutts and enjoy some sunshine.  It’s funny how when we first started taking the dogs down to the beach they really didn’t like the sand and hated being close to the waves, but now it’s almost as if they OWN the beach.  They are almost too comfortable running down to the sand, scaring the poo out of passersby!  We are working on training them that they are not allowed down at the beach unless we are with them, but it’s a work in progress ;)…

Happy Easter, y’all!

Oh, and here is a pic from Saturday night when Husband took me out for our anniversary… It was a beautiful weekend :)

Easter Sunday 2013

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal
life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the
world, but that the world should be saved through Him."
John 3:16-17

And this little princess ^^ I hadn’t seen her since my wedding day almost 2 years ago!  She was just a baby… and now look how big she is?!?  This is my cousin’s daughter, Allie.  Isn’t she precious?  She just got a little brother, (pictured in the black and white photo above) Ben, a few months ago, and I’m soooooo glad I got to spend some time with them!

Hope everyone had a Hoppy Easter!
