Laguna Beach, California

A few weeks ago (I know… it’s been a while since I’ve updated) after Husband & I spent a week in Palm Springs we moved over to the coast for a few blissful days in Laguna Beach.  We stayed at a hotel that was recommended to me by a friend called The Surf and Sand Resort, it was amazing!  It’s one of the few hotels that is located directly on the beach where you are able to walk right down and be in the sand.  Everything we did was within walking distance: the restaurants, the shopping, etc…  We loved it!  Thanks (again) California for a weekend full of gorgeous weather and stunning scenery!

A Day in Monterey County, California

Oh, Carmel by the Sea… even on the coldest of days in the middle of summer, you are still just stunning…

The Paraiso Vineyard

Our friends, Grace & Casey, were such great hosts.  They took us to this beautiful vineyard called Paraiso to start our “Week of Wine” off with a bang!  The pictures do not do it justice, this place had some incredible views.  Oh, and we made a new fur-friend, JD!  As long as he wasn’t slobbering all over our wine glasses, or chewing on the cow hide rug, or biting people as the came through the door… he was quite adorable. ;)

**If you are in the Monterey area, we highly recommend having brunch at this truly unique spot called 1833.  The chicken and waffles were killer!**

And I want to take a moment to give a much deserved “Thanks” to the entire Merritt family for being so welcoming and hospitable.  Playing with all the kiddos and enjoying family time with you guys is always such a treat.  We can’t wait to visit again!  Here are some photos of their sweet family:

We love you guys!

Did you miss us??

We’re back!!!

And oh my goodness… we had a heck of a time.  There’s so much to write about, I really don’t even know where to start… plus I’m kind of in a wine induced coma.  Add that to extreme exhaustion from the trip, and you have a girl who’s just ready to pass out and sleep in very late tomorrow morning.

I will organize all the pics and start posting parts of the trip soon!  Right now it just feels so good to be home.

P.S. the pic above was taken by my sweet friend, Grace, in Carmel.  It was FREEZING!!!  But still so, so beautiful.  Can’t wait to share the rest!

My Weekend with the Bride to Be!

So…(in case you have forgotten) my best friend, Torey, is getting married!  She got engaged a few weeks ago, and is hoping to be married within the year, which means we have a lot of planning to do!  If you need a reminder of who Torey is, here is a recap.

Side note:: I’m so blessed to have a wonderful husband who fully understands my duties in helping Torey plan.  He knows the importance of having a second opinion of someone you truly trust to help you make the right choice in flowers, colors, cakes, etc… Right Hunny? Love you, mean it! ;)

Anyway, I flew into Los Angeles on Thursday morning and got to spend the whole weekend with the Bride to Be!  We immediately got down to wedding business, and by “business” I mean grabbing lunch at CPK ’cause I can’t focus on ANYTHING without food in my belly. Just sayin’.  Ok… so after lunch we went straight home and went through about 100 bridal magazines & started building private boards on Pinterest.  It was so fun to see what inspires her and what she wants to do.  She has the finest taste and I know this wedding will never be matched!  I feel so lucky to be a part of it!

We also had some R&R visiting our alma mater in Malibu and seeing old friends.  Ate at some of our favorite restaurants like Taverna Tony and Moonshadows.  It was crazy seeing all of the changes that have taken course since the last time I was there… doesn’t even seem possible that so many things can look so different after such a short amount of time.  But it was great to be there! Overall, I’d say it was a very productive trip and I can’t wait to celebrate my sweet friend’s nuptials in a few months!  Italy?  California?  Mexico? All three maybe?!?  We shall see!
